A Letter to High School Graduates

The Short Version:

Don't rush big decisions. Learn English, find what you're genuinely curious about, set realistic goals, and never stop learning.

Dear high school graduate,

I know you haven't made any concrete decisions yet about your future plans and goals. The thoughts keep circling — should I go to university, or should I take a break and work on myself? I've been in exactly the same situation. Here's my personal advice:

Learn English. It has become the most widely used language for international communication. And with it, you can access the vast majority of information on the internet freely and without barriers.

Take time to answer the question: what do I actually want to do in life? Don't rush into making career decisions right as you finish school. Figure out what your genuine interests are and where your strengths lie. I've seen it too many times — your family says study medicine, but you're actually drawn to technology, or the other way around.

Don't be afraid to ask for help. When making decisions, reach out to people close to you and to experienced professionals working in the field you're interested in. Those successful people were once standing exactly where you are now.

Set goals for yourself — but make them realistic, achievable, and specific. Your goal shouldn't be "get into university." University education and gaining knowledge is just one factor that leads you toward your actual goal in life.

Don't stop. Keep learning. Knowledge that seems complex and overwhelming will gradually become clear over time. Create the right conditions for yourself to learn — whether it's religious knowledge or secular. Invest in your learning environment.

Make full use of the resources around you. Build good habits. The compound effect of small daily habits is more powerful than any single decision.

Always stay curious and never be embarrassed to ask questions. One of my professors used to say: the dumbest question is the one that was never asked.

Take care of your health. Eat well. Exercise.

Forward this to every high school graduate you know.
